If there are persons who do not understand the PHOTO HORSE SHOW CLASSES - please contact us so that we can get with you about it.
Each class requires a specific number of pictures and a specific way to show. If you attend a show and pictures are taken, you may use these pictures to send in. Example: you win in a halter class and pictures are taken with you and the equine in a pose or a Western Class and pictures are taken with you on the horse in a pose etc... YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND A "LIVE" SHOW TO GET PICTURES. You can dress appropriately - get your horse readied and have someone take the pictures at your home, stable, training facility, etc...

ABOUT THE ISHR:
In 1990 the International Spotted Horse Registry Association was formed to fill a void in the world of horses with color. (at the very first inception of this registry it was called the "Bi/Tri Spotted Horse Registry". A few years later the name was changed because people & horses from all over the world were joining this association, so "INTERNATIONAL" was much more appropriate a name.)
This type of association was needed, and so was formed to accept any and all horses of color - from the smallest of Miniatures horses to the largest of the Draft breeds of which many have the beautiful Sabino markings - and just that can make them eligible for this registry.
The "OTHER" color registries require not only the color patterns, but also "proof of parentage". Other "color" registries required some other proof such as "gaits" or "performance" or "sport" type characteristics. ISHR accepts ANY equine (excluding the mules & donkeys) with color, no matter if the equine is gaited, or performs or if it is a "sport" horse. The breed and/or breed type makes no difference.
ISHR has grown considerably since its initial start in 1990 with its limited acceptance of horses - TODAY, ISHR has reached spotted horses internationally (Germany, France, Poland, Belgium, Holland, Netherlands, Australia, and more...) and has registered all kinds, types and breeds of spotted drafts, horses, ponies, and miniatures. Not only accepting "grades", but ALL horses, whether the equine is a Grand Champion or a families loving pet. If the coat has a color pattern, (meaning any pinto type or Lp pattern type or both, including the "Sabino" markings) it will and can be accepted - parentage known or not. (sorry, no mules or donkeys at this time)
What else does ISHR have to offer? RECOGNITION, PRESTIGE, BELONGING, and PRIDE. ISHR gives the spotted equine "Recognition" in that it is spotted. "Prestige" in that a registration certificate is issued. "Belonging" in that this association will and does accept spotted horses of known and unknown origin/heritage. "Pride" is what the owners of these beautiful horses have.
The purpose of this registry is to stimulate matters such as may pertain to the color, pattern markings, history, exhibition, publicity, sales, shows or improvements of this type of spotted horse.
This association gains the interest of people because it is operated for the benefit of the colored horses for the patterns and colorful markings.
ISHR has found that one of the best ways to gain and retain interest and to keep positive attitudes is to provide a variety of programs and activities that members can participate in. This organization offers several different award programs, contests, events, specials and discounts for the members and their registered ISHR horses. Membership is NOT mandatory and the fees are low. ISHR is a NON-PROFIT organization. The staff, officers, and representatives DO NOT receive any type of wage or salary - ALL are VOLUNTEERS! So, all the money taken in goes back into the registry.
THIS IS THE ONLY HORSE REGISTRY THAT CAN GUARANTEE REGISTRATION PAPERS WITHIN 2 to 4 WEEKS UPON RECEIVING APPLICATIONS. (barring any complications)**NOTICE** -- ALL CHECKS WRITTEN FOR MEMBERSHIP AND/OR REGISTRATION WILL FIRST HAVE TO CLEAR THE BANK BEFORE ANY PAPERWORK WILL BE ISSUED - then the guarantee will take effect.
ISHR prides itself in being PROMPT, CONSIDERATE and COURTEOUS in the handling of all correspondence, and treating members as people and not as numbers.
ISHR has 3 branches in which a horse may be registered:
"PAINT/PINTO TYPE" (any equine with the characteristic spotting of a paint/pinto)
"PINTALOOSA" (3 sub-classes for types of Pintaloosas - see the link site for descriptions)
"APPALOOSA TYPE" (any equine that displays any of the Lp/PATN Patterns)
(example: if horse is a Paint or Pinto then PAINT/PINTO will be exhibited on certificate, if it is a PINTABIAN it will be listed as PAINT/PINTO ARABIAN or PAINT/PINTO TENNESSEE WALKER and so forth - this goes for the Appaloosa type such as APPALOOSA ARABIAN or APPALOOSA POA) - ISHR will try to put in the "TYPE" when it is known.
(NOTE**membership is not mandatory (except in "CPI Program" & from a Transfer), but a registration fee is higher if no membership is wanted)

IF PAYMENTS COME THROUGH THAT DO NOT MEET THIS REGULATION THEY WILL BE RETURNED and this will delay any paperwork that has been sent in.
